The purple S66 adds color to a 50-hour pair

Most i12-style earbuds come in white or black. The XIAOWTEK S66 breaks the pattern with purple buds, a playful choice that stands out on a desk and makes a fun present. Under the color sits a well-equipped in-ear pair with a digit-display case and Bluetooth 5.4.

What the S66 packs in:

  • 13.4mm dynamic drivers with a graphene diaphragm, tuned for strong bass, clear mids and bright highs.
  • Dual hybrid ENC mics that trim background noise from your calls.
  • Up to 8 hours per charge and up to 50 hours with the case.
  • An LED display showing the battery of the case and both buds.
  • IPX7 against sweat and rain.

Graphene is a very light, stiff material, which lets a driver move quickly and precisely. XIAOWTEK pairs it with a sealed silicone tip, so bass lands with weight and outside noise stays muffled. On a busy street, lyrics stay clear without cranking the volume.

Gift idea: purple buds are hard to mix up with a housemate's white pair, which makes the S66 a handy choice for families with several sets of earbuds around.

At roughly 2.5 × 2 × 1.5 inches and 1.12 ounces, the case is small enough for a jeans pocket. Its display ends the guessing game: one look tells you whether the buds and the case are ready for the day. For more ideas on picking a shade, the colors guide covers the whole range from classic white to pastel.

No app is required and there is no account to create. Open the case, pick the S66 on your phone once, and it is ready.

Three tip sizes for an all-day S66 fit

The S66 ships with three pairs of silicone ear tips, and choosing the right pair is the best thing you can do for its sound. A good seal gives the 13.4mm drivers their full bass and keeps the buds steady during a workout. A poor one makes even great drivers sound thin.

  1. Try the tips already fitted first, usually the middle size.
  2. Press each bud in gently and turn it a few degrees until you feel it seal.
  3. Play a bass-heavy song. If the low end is weak, move up one size.
  4. If the buds press or ache after a while, move down a size.
  5. Left and right can take different sizes; ears are rarely identical.

XIAOWTEK shaped the S66 to follow the ear's contours, aiming for comfort you forget about during long days. The buds are light, around 4.5 grams each, so they rest in the ear without dragging.

  • Office days: the seal keeps chatter down while you focus.
  • Gym sessions: IPX7 handles sweat, and a snug tip keeps the bud in place during movement.
  • Commutes: passive isolation lowers the rumble of buses and trains.

Keep the tips clean and they keep working. Remove them now and then, rinse in warm water, and let them dry completely before refitting. Wipe the buds after workouts before docking them, since sweat on the charging contacts is a common reason a bud stops filling up. The charging guide has the full checklist.

Spare tips from the box are worth keeping in a drawer. Silicone softens with months of wear, and a fresh tip brings the bass right back.

Both buds take commands on the S66

The S66 has touch sensors on both buds, so the left and right sides can control playback. XIAOWTEK calls it binaural touch control. Whichever hand is free, you can pause a song, skip ahead or pick up a call without reaching for the phone.

The touch sensors cover a full set of controls:

  • Volume up and down.
  • Previous and next song.
  • Pause and play.
  • Answer calls.
  • Wake the voice assistant.

XIAOWTEK prints the gesture list in the included manual. The touch controls guide explains the usual single, double and long-press patterns on stem pairs, so the card makes sense at a glance.

Pairing is a one-time job. After the first connection, simply take both buds out of the case and they pair with each other and reconnect to your phone automatically. Bluetooth 5.4 keeps the link steady up to about 33 feet away, handy when the phone sits on a desk while you move around the room.

  1. Charge the case and check the display shows power.
  2. Take both buds out together.
  3. Pick the S66 in your device's Bluetooth settings.
  4. From then on, lifting the buds out reconnects them.

The S66 works with most Bluetooth devices, including iPhones, Android phones, iPads, laptops, computers and TVs. Device-by-device steps are in the pairing guide. If one side goes quiet, return both buds to the case, shut the lid for a moment, then lift them out again; the reset guide covers the stubborn cases.

Calls get help from the dual hybrid ENC mics, which XIAOWTEK says remove up to 85% of background noise so your voice stays clear.

S66 against the Fhumsh A10 and Btootos A90 Pro

Several in-ear pairs share the S66's recipe of ENC mics, an LED case and IPX7. The differences come down to battery, driver size, color and case details. Set side by side with two popular rivals and its black sibling, the picture looks like this.

Choose the S66 if:

  • You want a colorful pair with the full feature set.
  • Spare tips in three sizes matter for your fit.
  • Touch control on both ears suits you.

The Fhumsh A10 suits hard training, with IPX7, gel tips in three sizes and dual-device pairing. The Btootos A90 Pro has the biggest drivers here and AAC support. The XIAOWTEK A66 shares the S66's core in black, with a lanyard on the case.

Bluetooth 5.3 on the Fhumsh and 5.4 on the rest makes little day-to-day difference with a phone nearby. Battery is the clearer split: the S66, A10 and A66 all reach 50 hours, while the A90 Pro stops at 36, which still covers a busy week for most listeners.

Fit is the other honest question. All four seal the ear with silicone tips, so if tips have never agreed with you, the half in-ear A40 Pro from the same maker, which rests at the entrance of the ear, is a gentler choice.

One last check before you order: the S66 case charges by cable, not on a Qi pad, so leave a USB lead where you usually top up. XIAOWTEK's warranty runs for 12 months.
